WINDEX-5000

WINDEX-5000 determines the level of turbulence in the air flow and identifies the horizontal wind shear and vertical gusts. WINDEX-5000 can be used as a wake vortex scanning module.

The Low-Level Wind Shear Alerting System developed by our experts in cooperation with the Laser Systems company is designed to ensure the safety of flights during take-off and landing operations.

EFFICIENTLY SOLVES THE FOLLOWING TASKS:

  • Promptly and remotely determining and displaying information about the vector direction and the magnitude of an airflow at specified altitudes;
  • Measuring turbulence and determining the horizontal wind shear and vertical gusts;
  • Identifying low-level wind shear and turbulence near airfields, heliports and other landing sites for aircraft;
  • Promptly providing information about low-level wind shear and turbulence to all air traffic participants, including aircraft crews;
  • Conducting 3D-mapping of wind fields;
  • Working in a profiler mode in the intended direction;
  • Detecting wake vortices;
  • Determining cloud level.

WINDEX-5000 APPLIES TO THE FOLLOWING FIELDS:

WINDEX-5000P

WINDEX-5000P is a modified version of the Pulse Wind Lidar with extended measurement range. It is capable of operating in a wake vortex scanning mode. WINDEX-5000P is able to perform cloud mapping functions (optionally), measuring height and cloud layer thickness in the scanning area.
